Our BINS4Blokes Champions

SHAN MORRISON

Shan is a Specialist Women’s, Men’s & Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and a fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. She is the director of Women’s & Men’s Health Physiotherapy in Melbourne and is passionate about improving the quality of life men with pelvic floor problems.

It is a privilege to be supporting this campaign as every day a man I am treating for his bladder leakage post-prostate surgery shares his frustration and embarrassment about not having anywhere to dispose of his pads.

GREG RYAN

Greg was born with an Imperforate anus/AnoRectal Malformation (IA/ARM) where the opening to the anus is missing or blocked. While Greg has had to deal with incontinence his entire life, it doesn’t hold him back from his work as a speaker and advocate for the IA/ARM community. Greg formed the One in 5000 Foundation in 2017 and is the author of A Secret Life – Surviving a Rare Congenital Condition. Read more about Greg’s story here

The BINS4Blokes campaign will impact and change the daily lives of males of all ages who have had to deal with incontinence, mostly in secret. To know that “sanitary bins” will be made available in male toilets will give boys and men the confidence that when their body fails them, they will have access to a “bin” for their personal use in private. I know BINS4Blokes will be a life changer for me!

ALAN WHITE

Alan is an author, Counsellor and Men’s Health Advocate. After prostate surgery in 2011, Alan became one of the many Australian men who had to deal with incontinence issues. Alan is the author of the book We’ve Lost My Prostate, Mate! … And Life Goes On: One man’s story and practical survival guide for Prostate Cancer. Read more about Alan’s story here

My reasons for wanting to be involved in BINS4Blokes is from my own personal experience of dealing with incontinence following removal of my prostate, and in talking to other men who are still dealing with incontinence issues. Not having a bin to throw the wet pad into is another dampener in dealing with one’s incontinence.
